You’re ready to start living the life that you envision. Now what? What’s the first step and how do you start living a self-empowered life? Grab your notebook and get started on your path to personal empowerment today!
Step #1 Examine
Take some time to examine your life. Where are you now and where do you want to be? What’s working in your life and what isn’t? Why? Explore your thoughts, beliefs, and actions. What excuses do you make? Where do you feel good, motivated and powerful? Where do you feel defeated, the victim, or powerless? Who or what do you blame for your situation?
Step #2 Let It Go
Release the limiting beliefs and the negative thoughts that are holding you back. Let go of the story that puts you in the role of the victim. It sounds harsh, but if you keep blaming and making excuses and don’t begin to take responsibility for your life, you cannot be empowered. Empowered means that you are in control over your thoughts, actions, and results.
Step #3 Refocus Your Future
Decide what you want your life to look like and what you need to do to get there. What steps do you need to take? Begin identifying goals and creating an action plan to achieve them. Some of your goals may be difficult. That’s fine. You can do it – one positive step at a time.
It’s important to know that empowerment doesn’t mean that you have to do it all yourself. You don’t. Seek positive support. Support can come in the form of tools like journals, goal tracking systems, or practices that help you stay positive and focus. It can also come in the form of people in your life, books, coaches, mentors and other positive support systems, including friends and family.
This is your life, no one else’s. You get to decide what it looks like and how you live it.
